Which stylus should you use with Notes Plus?
I got asked this question a lot; so I thought I would put up a page to answer in detail.
First of all, it must be a “capacitive” stylus, not the plastic stick you use for your Palm Pilot. This is not only for Notes Plus but also for all apps on an iPad. iPads only work with capacitive styli.
Then, which capacitive stylus should you use?
Foam-tip – A big NO-NO:
There are two reasons these foam-tip styli are not good. First, the foam material not rigid enough to have precise writing. Second, the tip feels like it might fall off. It didn’t fall off on mine but if I use it for a while more, it would.
I only know the Pogo Sketch made by TenOne Design as a foam-tip stylus but if you run into another maker’s foam-tip stylus, avoid it like the plague. The Pogo Sketch actually manages to have another big NO-NO: the stylus is too small to hold comfortably as a pen. All in one, it’s a terrible product.
Rubber-tip – very good and feels almost like pen (except for the big tip):
The BoxWave – this is what I personally use everyday. It really feels like normal pen, very responsive. I like the Styra model which has a real ball-point pen on the other end, just in case I need a pen (to write a check, for example, I hardly use paper).
You can buy this stylus on Amazon; search for “Boxwave capacitive stylus“. I like buying stuff from Amazon because they offer best price and I don’t have to waste time wonder around the store. Amazon currently sells the Styra (with pen) for $22.95 and the regular (without pen) for $15.00.
The Griffin – similar to the BoxWave.
It is so similar that when I watch the review (http://appsforipads.net/educational-apps-2/apps-for-ipads-tips-stylus-revies-contest) by our friend, MaggieB at AppsForiPads.net, I couldn’t tell the difference between the two. The Griffin is also sold on Amazon for $17.72.
The Targus – very good reviews:
Many Notes Plus users show their content with the Targus rubber-tip stylus; I suppose it performs similarly to other rubber-tip styli. They usually buy it at Target but (you guessed right) Amazon sells it too: $14.99 for normal (picture) version and $22.81 for with-pen version.
The AluPen – too big?
Notes Plus’s product videographer, Adam Weiss, uses it and he like it very much. It’s just a little too big and too expensive for me. Probably good for those with big hand. Sells on Amazon for $25.97.
There are a lot of other rubber-tip styli being sold on Amazon. Just search for “rubber-tip capacitive stylus“.
Plastic-tip styli – maybe
The DAGI stylus – here is some innovative attempt. Many users told me that the common problem of the current capacitive styli is that the tip is too big. Not only that it prevents precise positioning of the tip, it also hides the writing underneath. The DAGI stylus tried to solve the second problem with a see-through plastic tip (picture). Some users reported that it makes noise because of the plastic tip touching the iPad glass surface. With the DAGI stylus that Jeff Krueger (detail below) sent me to try, I didn’t hear a lot of noise; probably because I’m used to moving pen softer.
My personal opinion: it feels different, it’s not very natural (like pen) but it can be used comfortably after the learning curve. It’s worth a try.
Jeff Krueger, a Notes Plus user, just created a business importing these styli from Taiwan and sell it for $14.99. If you mention Notes Plus, he will give you 10% discount. Please visit his web site: http://dagi-us.com .
The Aponyo stylus - worth to try
The Aponyo stylus is just available on Amazon on Oct 2011. The special thing about this stylus : instead of using the rubbery tips as most styli, each stylus has a patented conductive fabric tip which makes them unique among currently available styli – the writing is smooth across the screen. It’s softer than the rubber tip which some people might like it. It slides across an iPad’s surface with less resistance. My opinion about the Aponyo is very simple: it works!
There’re three styli : the Aponyo Flip$20 with a stylus tip at one end and an old school ballpoint at the other. The Aponyo Click ($18), with a tip like a click ballpoint. The last one is the Aponyo Mini ($15) which suitable for use with your iPhone/Android phone.
Our Notes Plus users can use coupon code HGLNYY4G at checkout to receive 10% off their Kosella stylus order. The offer is good through 12/31/2011. You can find out more information about this stylus here : http://kosella.com/products/
The verdict: There is nothing like pen right now but it’s getting there. For now, a rubber-tip stylus is the best.
Please tell us in the comments your own experience of using an iPad stylus and how you would rate it in terms of the categories below. We’ll add your stylus if it’s not already in the chart.

After searching re Stylis recommendations and finding this one – http://www.macworld.com/article/1156560/touchscreen_stylus_roundup.html – I bought a Wacom Bamboo and am very happy with it. I’m only writing text with it but no problems so far and it’s certainly smooth. Worth the $40 odd dollars.
Really enjoying Notes Plus too. I’m using it for work, taking notes in meetings, recording some while doing it, creating working papers to support accounting entries into an online accounting app., capturing marketing and product development ideas – the lot! Especially love being able to email working papers so they can be attached to client files. Best of all I no longer have bits of paper floating round my desk.
Having fun drawing renovation plans at home too!! Well done to the developers.
Cheers, John.
May 17, 2012 @ 04:19:14
Hi John,
Thanks for the recommendation. I’m sure others would find it helpful. And thanks for the praise also. We’ll try harder.
May 14, 2012 @ 21:58:16
Do you have an update on when the Adonit Jot SDK will be implemented ? .i really love Notes Plus 3 but the stylus implementation is worse than others esp Note Taker HD.
the jot pro is a great stylus I am now hooked on.
Thanks! Bob
May 15, 2012 @ 02:49:11
Hi Bob,
Realistically, we don’t have a timeline for the pen yet though we’ll support it in a future update. We already have the Adonit SDK but the bugs and other usability issues are hindering us from implementing any new features at all. Please stay tuned until all these are addressed. We’ll try our best to shorten the wait.
May 08, 2012 @ 14:57:56
Hi, have you consider to make this app to work with Adonit Jot Touch stylus? I saw notetaker hd on Adonit website, but I like notepluse better and hope that I can have the jot touch to work with your app in the future. Thanks!
May 08, 2012 @ 16:13:39
Hi Quan,
We have their SDK but the bugs are currently hindering us. We’ll try our best to get it integrated. Stay tuned.
May 05, 2012 @ 02:33:28
I love this app. Just wish it had support for ipen. Are you any closer to incorporating it?
May 05, 2012 @ 02:43:22
Hi Gino,
We’ll support the Byzero Pen in v3.1 (due in a few months). Since the iPen SDK is similar, support for the pen should be straightforward afterwards. Please stay tuned.

Apr 17, 2012 @ 03:06:09
Hi Sakib,
Have you read this http://www.theverge.com/2012/4/10/2925937/best-stylus-ipad-review? It should give you more information to make your own decision.
Apr 13, 2012 @ 23:42:32
Hi! I just bought your app and its really neat:) I was planing on buying the jot pro stylus and Im wondering if its compatible with your app? I read on their website that it works with notetaker HD and that’s a similar app.. It said on the jot pro site that you could mail them if you want help to make to pen compatible with your app, maybe u could talk to them?
Apr 13, 2012 @ 23:44:36
Oh! Sorry for my crappy spelling :p its late at night here in sweden..
Apr 14, 2012 @ 08:18:05
Hi Emma,
Thanks for the compliment. As regards your question, Adonit actually contacted us regarding the integration and we had their SDK. We’ll try to implement this in a future update after fixing all the bugs. But the pen should already work with any app; app-specific integration will only make it more precise.
Apr 14, 2012 @ 15:13:34
Okey! That sounds great:) I have tried the app today and I have some questions.
1. I love the handwriting recognition and I use it allot. Will you add more fonts in a later update or the function to upload own fonts? (if i download some at a website like http://www.dafont.com) I think you have many great fonts but i write diary and sketch ideas for website designs and I love fonts that looks like its handwritten.. ( llike for example : http://www.dafont.com/sverige-script.font , or http://www.dafont.com/jenna-sue.font or http://www.dafont.com/simply-delicious.font)
2. When I write in the textbox i would love to have a palmpad under so that I can rest my wrist when Im writing but I cant use the palm pad and the textbox at the same time.. Can you inplement that function in a later update?
3. Is it possible to inplement a color picker in the app? Like the one at http://www.colorpicker.com/. And in that case maybe a pipett function?
Apr 14, 2012 @ 15:21:48
Ops, I I forgot..
4. The wrist pad only goes to the half page. I cant use it when i write at the top of the page because my wrist touches the paper.. Can you make it so that I can chose how long i want it? And maybe a “lock wrist pad” function?:)
Apr 15, 2012 @ 05:55:56
Hi Emma,
4. The wrist pad (palm pad) should be as vertically long as you want it to be. Is it not the case? Drag the black handle in the bottom-left corner to reveal the palm pad. Did you do this and could only drag it halfway?
Apr 15, 2012 @ 16:39:38
There seems to have been quite a few palm pad suggestions, such as an automatic one that detects if your palm goes down (Noteshelf), but there should at least be a way to pin it down at any spot higher than the default one.
You’ll see that if the palm pad is higher than its original size when triggered, tapping on the black handle will make it shrink back to default size. However, if you’re at default size already, tapping on it won’t do anything. You’ll have to press and hold to bring the palm pad up or down. At least, try to make it so that simply tapping on the black handle won’t move the palm pad in any way, regardless of its position at that point.
Or maybe it’s by design? But I can’t understand the logic of it… Can you ask if this could possibly be a bug, Toan?
Apr 17, 2012 @ 15:32:23
Hi Laure,
I’ve checked with Viet and this is what he said:
Apr 17, 2012 @ 21:16:43
Ok, got it. Once Viet is aware of an issue, I’m reassured
Apr 15, 2012 @ 05:45:31
Hi Emma,
Thanks for the questions.
1. We’ll consider allowing custom fonts. It’s a nice idea. Let’s see if we can do this.
2. When in textbox mode (ABC or T mode), you can’t handwrite so you won’t need a palm pad. Or do you mean something else? Can you tell me more about this?
3. We want users to make quick selections rather than be overwhelmed with color choices, so we’ve stayed away from a color picker since the first version of the app. We might add more preset colors though.
Apr 15, 2012 @ 15:17:39
Answer to the questions:
1. Thanks! That would be a really neat feature!
3. Okay! I understand. Maybe you can make a setting so that ppl can chose how they want it? If the default setting is quick selections and If someone needs more colors they can “turn it on” in the same settings where u can turn on/off shape recognition? Or if people can have the option to make their own color quick selections in the settings? Im a sucker for having many options and features but I guess some ppl get confused.;P
2. And 4. At first i could only pull the wrist pad to half of the page and I couldnt use the writingbox.I had to write on the bottom of the page so I had a grey area to keep my wrist.. But I restarted the app and the problem was fixed:) I hadn’t restarted the app/ipad in a long time so maybe that caused it?
Thanx so much for the great support!! one of the best things with this app is you!:) its awesome that you listen to suggestions and actually answer to comments. I’m happy that I chose notesplus and not NotetakerHD.;)
Apr 15, 2012 @ 17:04:07
Hi Emma,
You’re very welcome. Any other questions, just let us know. We’re always at your service
.
Apr 15, 2012 @ 16:30:54
Toan, the option to customize your own preset colors would be kinda neat! At least it wouldn’t be as overwhelming as having a color picker. Could you suggest it to Viet maybe?
)
(It’s so easy to give suggestions though… Sometimes I feel bad for Viet who has to think about how to add a feature in a way that it doesn’t contradict with everything else he has already implemented. Poor him.
Apr 15, 2012 @ 23:41:05
Hi Laure,
I thought we already had this capability with the Opacity option for each color. Or do you mean something else?
Apr 16, 2012 @ 08:15:30
I do mean something different.
Let me try to explain. A full color picker at all times could slow down the user who just wants the colors to be immediately in reach. But there’s a way to provide easy color selection as well as “infinite” color choices. If Viet could implement a way to customize the current 14 color slots (slots could also be added) that are shown in the Palette window, then the user that wants a lighter purple or a different green can easily change it himself/herself. And then choosing it from the Color Palette is a piece of cake!
Apr 16, 2012 @ 16:12:55
Got it. We’ll consider that. I just can’t wait for the new UI, by the way.
Apr 16, 2012 @ 19:03:18
Thanks Toan
Me neither!!! Viet is killing us by making us wait 5 weeks… but I know he’s trying his best at least.
Apr 16, 2012 @ 16:46:48
what makes you planning to buy the jot pro, Emma? Are you going to use it for mostly note taking purposes?
I heard many of them complaining of the loud ‘click’ sound from the jot pro while writing on the smart devices.
Apr 28, 2012 @ 20:07:45
Emma,
I just bought the jot flip (similar to the jot pro, but with a ball point pen on the other end) and I LOVE it with Notes Plus. In my opinion, it is the PERFECT combination of app and stylus.
Buy the jot. You will not regret it.
Ned
Apr 13, 2012 @ 21:11:57
I would recommend also adding Brvsh to the list of reviewed styli. In my opinion, it’s the best of them all.
Apr 14, 2012 @ 07:46:27
Hi Bob,
Do you own the Brvsh stylus? If so, how would you rate it in terms of the categories above?
Apr 14, 2012 @ 22:00:06
Toan, the Brvsh was actually rated by the author of that chart above, but remember you didn’t post up every chart because you chose the one you found to be most pertinent for handwriting? That stylus was in the “special styli” chart.
Apr 15, 2012 @ 06:55:03
Hi Laure,
I followed the MacWorld link (http://www.macworld.com/article/1164854/iphone_and_ipad_styluses_compared.html) but couldn’t find the Brvsh stylus or any chart named “special styli”. Could you show me the link where you found the stylus?
Apr 15, 2012 @ 11:53:13
I’m sorry, Toan. I must have gotten confused with the Nomad Brush. I believe I also saw the new Brvsh stylus being advertised before. Don’t know what was going through my head at that moment!
Apr 15, 2012 @ 14:28:00
No problem, Laure
.
Apr 12, 2012 @ 19:50:58
Dear Viet, I have purchase notes plus yesterday for taking notes in office on my iPad 3. My observations are
1. Some tools appear blurry on retina screen (on the top icons) – Seems not supporting retina display
2. When I use palm rest and start writing, screen moves up and down due to multigesture in iOS 5 which prevents me to take use note. To use it I have to disable this option from general setting. – can we have lock button right on apps to disable multitasking gestures or as soon as we raise palm rest it may disable automatically.
3. I am using capdase stylus but not able to write precisely as it misses some alphabet. I don’t know it is problem of stylus or apps. Please suggest
4. Audio notes may be linked with particular notebook it will help me to take note later
Thanks!
Apr 13, 2012 @ 01:34:04
Hi Praful,
Thanks for the feedback.
1. We’ll have support for the new display in the next update, due in 5 weeks.
2. Unfortunately, Apple doesn’t allow changing this setting (or any other setting) by code. We hope to come up with a different solution.
3. Do you have other apps you can test your stylus with? Does it have problems in those apps? If not, it might be due to Notes Plus not performing well, memory-wise. Sorry about the inconvenience. We’ll optimize this.
4. Currently recordings are linked to the pages where they were made. To access them on a page, swipe right at the Mic icon. Does this serve your purpose?
Apr 11, 2012 @ 19:17:05
Hi,
I just got Notes Plus and took notes on it for class yesterday. It’s great, but when I did the autointegrating to Dropbox, the files transferred but none of my files are viewable. It says “Unable to view file” and “This file type can’t be viewed.” Even the recording I did can’t be accessed. Also, the 5 pages of notes I took are all separated out into 5 different folders on Dropbox, with only the first page being viewable. Any idea what I can do to fix this? Thanks.
Regards,
Huzaifa
Apr 12, 2012 @ 02:15:03
Hi Huzaifa,
The files in Dropbox/NotesPlus/Sync/ are for backup purposes only; they’re not really viewable inside the Dropbox app. However, you can view the index.html files in an SVG-capable browser (like Safari or Firefox) on your computer; they display the contents of your notebooks. Or you can export a viewable PDF to Dropbox by tapping Tools (top-left wrench icon) > Export > To Dropbox > [choose a PDF option]. The recordings are playable with QuickTime only.
Apr 08, 2012 @ 16:02:59
the notes plus is excellent. I wanted to know if you are thinking to putting a calculator in the notes plus, I think it would be very useful, as many times as you take notes also must be doing calculations.
Apr 08, 2012 @ 18:06:46
Hi Pablo,
We’ll add a calculator in the browser panel. For now, try opening this web calculator in Notes Plus: http://new.instacalc.com .
Apr 02, 2012 @ 08:16:33
Hi: I’m interested to buy the iPen Stylus, from Cregle (http://www.cregle.com/) to use with Notes Plus, but I think Notes Plus does not support yet this stylus. Are you working to do this?
Thanks
Apr 02, 2012 @ 16:26:13
Hi Inaki,
We haven’t supported the pen yet. We’ll get started on that after fixing all the current bugs.
Mar 24, 2012 @ 14:55:45
I agree jot pro is fairly good but four things annoy me. 1) constant tapping of plastic disc on iPad screen. 2) having to unscrew the stylus top. 3) have to be careful with disc as I’m on my second one. 4) no pocket clip so I have to put it in my trouser pocket instead of shirt pocket. Having said that it writes nicely but I still find myself using my Aponyo Stylus for most occasions.
Only place to buy them in the UK is http://www.accessor-i.com
As others have mentioned though it is totally personal preference on stylus so I would say look around and see what you need most in a stylus, ie smooth gliding for lots of note taking or some resistance to help with drawing. It’s your choice and what’s perfect for 1 person may not be for someone else!
Mar 23, 2012 @ 22:59:24
Greetings all,
Glad to see the NP BLOG – “Which Stylus should you use…” section is still being updated.
1. Like most things, picking a Stylus is very much a personal preference. YMMV
2. I just saw another interesting article on the Ars Technica site:

It covers a lot of different considerations and is well worth reading. (it even mentions Notes plus several times – for BONUS points
3. And if you have not read: Viet Tran’s blog: http://viettran.com/
you are missing some very interesting background information.

Hi Philip,
Thanks for the link. I’ve included it on the page.
Mar 23, 2012 @ 15:14:21
The Adonit Jot Pro has recently been released and it is fantastic! Very responsive, smooth glide across the glass and the closest thing I have found to actual ink on paper.
A bit pricey but I use it all the time now so its well worth the cost.
http://adonit.net/product/jot-pro/
Mar 23, 2012 @ 04:17:33
The input from the stylus is slightly behind the pen, this is the worst of all of the delays in these note taking applications (as there will always be a slight delay). The ink plays catch up to the input this the single worst feature as it slows you down and make it more difficult to take notes quickly. Untill this is addresses notes plus comes second to many others in writting and 1st in features its very frustrating. If you could address the “lag” of the ink I can get rid of the others.
The applications Note Shelf, Good Notes and Noteability do not suffer such a delay and feel more fluid, even the free bamboo papper has better writting input, this is all based with a targus stylus on the “new ipad”
Thanks
Mar 23, 2012 @ 05:50:04
Hi Quad,
The slowness is known. We’ll optimize performance, especially on iPad 1, in subsequent updates. It’s not easy as this app has become more complex than version 2. We’ll also address this slowness on the new iPad. Meanwhile, to help with performance, avoid putting too much text on one page (create a new page and continue with your work). Recording while writing is also known to slow things down, so avoid it too if possible. Sorry about the lagginess. It’ll get better.
Mar 21, 2012 @ 07:54:46
It will be great if NotePlus can support the active stylus like Ipen from Cregle.
Any plan to support this ?
Thank you for your advice !
Mar 22, 2012 @ 00:23:57
Hi Peter,
We have plans for the pen but we’ll only implement it after fixing most of the bugs. Please stay tuned. Thanks.
Mar 31, 2012 @ 14:56:39
Re-iterating here, but iPen or StudioOne support should be moved up on your priotity list, IMO. Would render the app so much more useful.
Mar 31, 2012 @ 16:36:16
Hi T,
We’d love to start on the iPen sooner but looking at the bug list here: http://notesplusapp.com/version/version-3-beta, we can’t just add new features and risk introducing more bugs
.
Mar 20, 2012 @ 20:46:15
I so disagree with the above comparison chart. I have tried lots of different styluses and my favourite is by far the Aponyo Click Stylus. I have used a jot pro, griffin and loads of others but I still prefer the aponyo. It glides so smoothly which makes long periods of note taking a breeze. I know I’m biased because I’ve just started to sell them in the UK but this is only because I think they are so good. What’s more because the nib retracts it protects them (my last rubber ended stylus fell off).
Anyway if you want to buy one in the UK then check out this website: http://www.accessor-i.com
Most importantly, I am a Notes Plus Beta Tester and so I know a thing about note taking and Notes Plus is just perfect with these styluses!!
Mar 20, 2012 @ 23:05:27
Your post James is prime time to what was written on the STYLUS-R-US web site on their page called HOW TO TEST ANY STYLUS. This below, is so fitting to what you just wrote. At their bottom of that page, they said,
”The purpose of the above criteria – is to remove the reviewers PERSONAL PREFERENCE. Something that is found in 100% of all on-line forum reviews – authored by individuals who believe they were and are trying to help others. Unfortunately – little to no reliance should be placed on this type of review. Who cares what stylus Johnny Jones likes – when Suzzi Martin – Sally Herkama – and Shakira – hate the same stylus?? How could that type of review – help anyone? A response of ,”it’s the overall majority reviews” – may sound good on paper – though reflectively means nothing – because it’s still all based on personal feelings: what they personally like – none of which has any bearing on the characteristics – that need to be filtered into an accurate stylus review – then applied to all other stylus.
When someone gives a stylus a 4 or 5 star rating – exactly what other stylus or standard are they comparing it to? Answer. Nothing. Personal feelings! What they felt was good. How does that have any bearing – on what you like or prefer???”
And though I don’t agree with everything on their site, I do agree with the just read paragraph. Here, the above reviewer gave the Aponyo a low score, yet you, James, think it’s the best. This is exactly what this just quoted paragraph from the SRU site, is saying. The web is filled with personal opinions when, what needs to be used, is a standard. A host of characteristics that is applied to every stylus, that completely blocks all personal preference. Hey? I used their 10 step criteria list on all my non-SRU stylus, and not one of them even rated a five. Like they also said, if a stylus can’t pass their first criteria, it is not going to rate high.
Mar 19, 2012 @ 01:59:39
I found that stylus comparison, interesting, except for one thing. Unless I’m reading it wrong, (which I often do, duhhh) they rated the Bamboo the highest score. The problem I have with that is, check out this Amazon link. I hope it appears here.
http://www.amazon.com/review/R10VUXWLRYJ3BM/ref=cm_sw_em_r_asr_nwlnC.1FJP239_r
If it’[s not a link, copy and paste it in your browser.
Mar 19, 2012 @ 06:55:32
No, you’re right. The author of that stylus comparison does prefer the bamboo over all others, but all in all she has a preferrence for rubber styli and not all would agree with her on this. I wouldn’t for example. But as she mainly uses styli for drawing, she seems to prefer a little more stickiness on the screen.
Testers have also said that they purchased the bamboo stylus because of its comfortable fit and all, but one of the factors was that they provide replacement tips. However, because it seems that they’re highly demanded, they almost always run out. I don’t have a bamboo myself, but I personally prefer conductive fabric styli, without having tried the stylus-r-us yet though.
Mar 19, 2012 @ 16:22:58
A valid observation Laure, regarding the rubber tipped stylus. I am amazed that anyone writing a review could arrive at that conclusion, when the web is clustered with bad rubber tipped stylus reviews. If I had a dollar for every review I’ve read telling on the PoGo, Boxwave, Griffin and all of the other cloned rubber tipped stylus breaking in a week; dragging on the screen; smudging, and requiring too much pressure, I could buy a particular Louis Vuitton bag I’d love to have. Honestly, how anyone could ever direct anyone else to a rubber tipped stylus, is beyond me. You wouldn’t want to do that to your worst enemy.
Regarding your comment of..” Testers have also said that they purchased the bamboo stylus because of its comfortable fit and all, but one of the factors was that they provide replacement tips,” (not directed at you) is that suppose to be a good thing? Isn’t that saying, “here is our stylus but be prepared to by extra tips because ours wear out.” I mean, who wants to buy a stylus, that its tip needs parts or wears out? My SRU ones are all going strong, no signs of wear, but I read and followed their instructions to the letter, and this is why they last and last. The other thing that helps me every time I use them is, I say their motto to myself, out loud” That being, “the lighter you touch, the better they work”. And they do, too.
Mar 20, 2012 @ 13:20:47
Well, it seems that the slippery behavior of conductive fiber styli (and SRU styli, as I understand that their material is different) is not appreciated by all. I don’t do much drawing, so I wouldn’t understand those justifications for a preferrence for the “sticky.”
As for the testers, I think they meant that any company can always advertize their tips to last, but they always ends up breaking in the end, so replacement tips is a crucial reason to buy a stylus such as the bamboo. I mean, it has built itself quite a reputation, despite its high price, so I’m guessing there must be valid reasons for people liking it. I personally think it looks nice, but have never tried one to judge any further.
I do know that the SRU site has this post on replacement tips being a marketing strategy and all, so I know what you’re leading to, and I can’t say I disagree. But I think it’s wiser to say that certain people have developed a habit of giving quite a bit of pressure on their stylus tip, and when writing for several hours a day, this can well be a cause of the tips breaking, but I’m guessing they won’t change their habit so easily, so the SRU styli might not necessarily be fit for them, as you have pertinently noted that their motto is “the lighter you touch, the better they work.” That’s why there are complaints even for SRU styli when people just can’t touch light enough to not break the tip.
All in all, people just have different taste and habits. Those are determining factors in their choice of styli, and we just got to accept that
Mar 20, 2012 @ 22:46:50
I agree with you Laure for the most part, except about it being crucial to buy a stylus that has replacement tips. As I mentioned, I have several SRU stylus and have used them for well over a hundred hours each (except for my new Double Duty which I just got on Monday) and not one of them shows any signs of breaking, or wear, but then, there is nothing to break. The tip is made out of some kind of incredible cloth that can’t break or tear, because there is no drag on the screen when using them. Resistance on anything, is what causes wearing and breaking. With these SRU ones, there is no dragging or grabbing of the tip, (because they glide so easily) and therefore, no wearing or breaking. So, at least for the SRU stylus, having a replacement tip, isn’t needed.
I don’t quite think, like their web site says though, that companies are making replacement tips just to hook someone for more money. I don’t agree with that. So then, if it’s not that, what other reason would various companies offer replacement tips? The only answer can be, because THAT stylus requires a replacement tip, (not lasting long) and that, to me, would be a major deterrent in buying that stylus. Having to buy replacement tips, is like having to buy batteries for something every few days, and I don’t care to do that.
In response to your line(s) of…” But I think it’s wiser to say that certain people have developed a habit (yes, a habit they had no choice but to develop, because all other stylus demand pressure. They won’t work lightly, making it a, forced-to-learn habit) of giving quite a bit of pressure on their stylus tip, and when writing for several hours a day, this can well be a cause of the tips breaking, but I’m guessing they won’t change their habit so easily, so the SRU styli might not necessarily be fit for them, as you have pertinently noted that their motto is “the lighter you touch, the better they work. That’s why there are complaints even for SRU styli when people just can’t touch light enough to not break the tip.”
I agree with you here too. Not everyone can use a writing instrument lightly. Luckily, I can. But please take it from one (me) who has a near, half dozen of the SRU ones now (because they are all different and so cool), your usage of the words at the end of paragraph….“break the tip”, just isn’t an option for SRU, as it’s not an option for bowling balls. Not everything breaks, and “wears out,” if used as they instruct, isn’t an option for SRU either. I don’t know. I’m only talking from being an SRU customer and known exactly what is what. And believe me, I’ve tried all of the others, and the worst, were the Jot and the Aponyo. They’re all in the class of the PoGo.
Everyone likes different things though like you said. To each their own.
Mar 21, 2012 @ 07:30:14
I personally would prefer a stylus that lasts without the need for replacement tips, but as nobody ever knows what could accidentally happen to a stylus’ tip, replacment tips that are included with a stylus for example would be a better investment than none at all. In fact, as you say, the SRU have “instructions” on using their styli. I guess many people don’t pay enough attention to those, since they have mentioned on their site that there have been people wanting refunds or exchanges after their tips were broken (which they don’t grant in those conditions). Everything is possible, and although I’m not denying the quality of the SRU, they can also go broken (these are facts mentioned on their website even), but apparently only if not used correctly.
From what I’ve seen, people have different ‘pressure’ habits while using their pens and pencils too, so I don’t think that has only come from using styli that require pressure. Certain people are just not fit for their styli. Anybody that can follow their instructions will be delighted, but all others are using their styli at their own risk.
I have to disagree with you because I actually like the Aponyo, but if you say that you prefer the SRU over that one even, then I guess they’re not even similar (which is what I thought, since they both promote a smooth sliding). Will have to try one one day.
Mar 22, 2012 @ 07:39:29
I checked out the link you provided. I see how you come to the conclusion of the Aponyo and the Jot being their comparison products. But the number of conductive fabric styli seems to be widely increasing, although pen-like styli like the ByZero and the iPen are on the market already (can’t afford them though). I guess it does seem like it would be in an attempt to copy the SRU tips, but honestly I don’t think so. A certain site that sells the Aponyo offers to exchange the stylus for a brand-new one if the stylus bought becomes irresponsive and the warranty lasts for an entire year, so that must mean that they’re convinced of the Aponyo’s tip quality. Otherwise they would go broke by just replacing all irresponsive styli.
But I could be wrong. After all, there are so many styli creators these days, you can never be sure where they get their inspiration from.
Very interesting how the SRU company addresses such a big variety of topics on their site though, I was already positively surprised the first time I checked it out. I’d have to say that they have one of the most informational site as a stylus company. None of the others ever give advices or clarify concerns, or if they do, it’s never satisfyingly enough. The Device Tips article was also one I checked out recently. Definitely entertaining, although I found the on-screen Home button to be rather disturbing. But regardless, I find their site quite fun to browse through, and I suppose that’s only to their benefit.
I also read somewhere that the SRU styli are managed by a one-man company. If that proves to be true, I’m impressed by the creator’s ability to create such a competent product.
Have you ever tried purchasing any of their styli on sale? If you didn’t, that’s fine. I just wanted some outside opinion on those because the site claims that those styli only have a light scratch that’s barely visible. Not that I would doubt their claims, but you can never be too sure.
Mar 23, 2012 @ 14:12:41
Laure…you mentioned in your below post, at the bottom, this line, “Will have to try one one day.” referring to possibly buying an SRU stylus. Please, for the sake of all of us, leave out your personal preference and use the SRU stylus testing criteria list we spoke of, if you should buy one. And in doing so, compare the SRU one (you may buy) with your Aponyo and any other you have, meaning, actually compare all three, using the very same test, because though our personal preference and feelings are important to us, they are only important to us, no one else. Just rate them all, using that standard, just for the sake or a valid test. You’ll see, none compare. That test being on page http://www.beststylus.com/how-to-rate-any-stylus.html. That will help all of us, if you do buy one. And like that test says, if any stylus fails the first step, it gets a zero, no matter how good it is at anything else. This won’t be a test of which you think is better at this, or that. Only a test using, what I agree, should be the only means of testing. A global standard. Please do this for all of us, if you buy one.
Mar 25, 2012 @ 10:30:29
Betty, I will be sure to test out the stylus according to their “global standard” when I get one although I wouldn’t know if any other companies would agree with that.
You think too highly of me!
Do you personally have any preference for any of their models? I know that their site doesn’t recommend any of their stylus because people don’t seem to be following their recommendations, so they don’t bother anymore. But I’m just curious about your opinion.
However, I just wanted to tell you that even if I get the stylus and do the comparisons with my current (and older) styli, it’s true that I could tell the Notes Plus devs about the differences I’ve noticed, but they’re still not entitled to agree or believe me. After all, I’m just a beta tester, and in no way do I have any control over the content of this site
Maybe if I’m really satisfied with the stylus, I can recommend the devs to try one out, and that would be the most I can do!
Mar 23, 2012 @ 13:31:24
Laure, you asked….Have you ever tried purchasing any of their styli on sale?
I must admit my very first was a discounted Terminator they claimed would be slightly harder to extract the outer tube. I’m not sure what their easy ones are like, but I didn’t find this difficult at all, so this was a really great deal. I purchase this one first to see if I’d like their stylus, and wow, when I found I did, I only purchase all the regular price ones from there. I think there’s something, Laure, possibly you and others aren’t taking into consideration, (though I was wrong once before in my life
. And that is, SRU telescoping stylus. First, their site states they have that patented, which accounts for why there is no other company selling them. But there is no way I could tell you strong enough, how cool they are. First, they retract so they’re perfect note taking, and then, when you want to kick back, like in bed or a chair with your iPad, omg extending them to long, really does make the iPad awesome. It’s like power steering. Also, and again, either I’m missing pages on their site, or they add them daily, as I just saw one called, I think it’s, let me go see. “SRU Styli Hard To Use.” This page is incredible. The way that writer writes, cut to the bone in a good way. He or she makes everything so clear and undeniable. Check out that link. http://www.beststylus.com/sru-styli-hard-to-use.html
And look at how easy the SRU stylus works by that little girl and the disabled lady with no arms. I mean, really, try that with any other stylus.
And in response to your comment of… “Everything is possible, and although I’m not denying the quality of the SRU, they can also go broken (these are facts mentioned on their website even), but apparently only if not used correctly.”
I was trying to think of a company anywhere, who’d replace a product we broke? (not a fault of the product, but that I/we broke). But the reality is, if something isn’t used properly, you can’t expect any company to replace it. That’s just asking too much. And that’s just how it works with any company. No one can expect a company to stand behind a product, they personally broke, either due to accident or deliberate. That’s just expecting too much.
With each stylus I’ve purchased from SRU, they include instructions, which are very easy to follow and quite helpful. Everyone is making such a big thing of their instructions, but what high tech product, doesn’t have instructions? Easy, easy, easy.
About the home button in their DEVICE TIPS. I think it is so cool because I can use their stylus, to totally control my iPad3, instead of having to push that hard to push home button in the frame. And I can move the on-screen home button anywhere, so that too is cool. But this is purely preference, I know.
About you saying it might be a one man company? I’ve received emails from four separate staff members (I guess) so I don’t think that’s accurate either. It’s very hard to believe all you read.
Mar 16, 2012 @ 02:37:26
Hi Toan
Do you mind ranking the different styli? I need one that is food for writing on good reader. I’m trying to find something that is close to a pen for my iPad. Thanks for making this info available
Thanks!
Art
Mar 16, 2012 @ 02:55:45
Hi Art,
I’d love to do that, but I’m not an actual user of these styluses so I’m afraid I can’t. Would you mind reading old comments from other people? Just click on “Older” at the top of the comments section. Most of the comments are highly instructive.
Mar 18, 2012 @ 12:03:12
Toan (and eventually Viet),
In the past, when I searched online for ratings about different styli, I once came across this whole chart that somebody had written up with over 10 styli he had personally tried and he ranked them by several criteria, such as the stylus’ responsiveness to tapping, swiping, handwriting, or the softness of the tip, its weight/length, comfort in holding, …
I can’t really call each term he used for each category, but it was basically about those several things I listed. I thought that was very clever because it gave information that one user would value over another, and this would be very helpful on this page too!
I have also looked at the stylus-r-us (but haven’t bought one), and it might be the best, but I think this idea of comparison between styli would make it an easier task for users to make their choice. So when any user adds a comment about another stylus that doesn’t figure in the chart, he’ll add his own rating of each category as well and you/Duy (or Viet) can add it to the post above to complete it (Viet can then precise that he didn’t personally use that one). That way, this page will actually become a fully informational page.
Just an idea, but thought that it was worth a try
Mar 18, 2012 @ 13:12:07
I googled but couldn’t find the one with 10 styli. This is for 12 styli review from MacWorld that I think pretty comprehensive: http://www.macworld.com/article/1156560/touchscreen_stylus_roundup.html
I think we really need to update this page. Toan?
Viet
Mar 18, 2012 @ 16:13:48
Viet, I didn’t know if it was 10 styli exactly, but I said ‘more’ than that. You weren’t that far though!
Here’s the link http://www.macworld.com/article/1164854/iphone_and_ipad_styluses_compared.html
Done by the same person, although she has a preferrence for rubber styli that I wouldn’t necessarily agree with. The organisation is just nice to get inspiration from, but the content and ratings are more up to interpretation of course.
Mar 19, 2012 @ 01:11:06
Hi Laure,
Thanks for the link. I’ve updated the page above.
Mar 19, 2012 @ 06:58:56
No problem, Toan! But I saw that you only cropped the first chart out, is that because those are more pertinent for note-taking?
Mar 20, 2012 @ 02:23:45
Hi Laure,
Yes, that’s what I thought. I provided the source link so people can always check it out for more detail. I avoid cluttering the page with charts. What do you think?
Mar 20, 2012 @ 13:27:09
No problem of course. I just thought that the other styli mentioned in the post were quite interesting although I agree that they might not necessarily serve for note-taking purposes. Well, people can always look further in the link if they wish to do so. Good choice, Toan, the site will need to be remodeled in the future anyways
Let’s not make that harder than it would be.
Mar 21, 2012 @ 15:47:12
This is in response to Laure’s post, above, dated 3021/12 where there was no place to make as reply.
Hi Laure;
You always bring up so many good points. In trying to research on their site, like you have, I found, either a page I missed in days prior, or one they just put on, having received a particular email. Apparently the subject of replacement tips is coming up so much, they had to put this page on their site that talks about replacement tips. It might be worth looking into. As usual, they seem to account for everything, which I have to admit, makes sense. Though they mention no names, the two stylus they put up against their stylus standard of testing, I believe were the Aponyo and the Jot, both of which failed the first test. There really is some interesting stuff on their site, like the device tips. I now have the on-screen home button on my iPad which is really cool. That page link is – http://www.beststylus.com/replacement-tips.html
Mar 22, 2012 @ 07:13:58
Betty, just for the reference, the site has some sort of 5 posts limit, so when you see the “Reply” button gone on the 5th post, just go to the previous (4th) post and press on its “Reply” button, then type; it will just put your post underneath the 5th post.
I’ll continue writing above, where we started, so that we don’t get too spread out because it’s quite easy to get lost on this site…
Mar 16, 2012 @ 12:19:55
Art, you’ve brought up a good subject about rating various stylus, and is something that would be helpful to all of us. In purchasing several stylus from that company called STYLUS-R-US, they have an interesting page they call, “HOW TO RATE ANY STYLUS”, I fully agree with, needs to be a standard of rating all stylus, to depart from user preference. You might look into this page on their site. I know I tried testing all my other stylus to the standards they present, and not one of them could do what theirs can do.
Mar 17, 2012 @ 11:32:53
Hi Betty
Thanks for the lead! I will definitely look into it.
Mar 15, 2012 @ 16:40:13
Will notes plus work with the iPen http://www.cregle.com/ipen ?
Thanks
John
Mar 15, 2012 @ 16:41:38
Hi John,
It isn’t working with the pen now, but it will in the near future. We’ll just need to find time to implement support for it (after fixing the outstanding bugs). Please stay tuned.
Mar 15, 2012 @ 16:21:15
That was a cute trick! You all know the stylusrus stylus are the best of any, so any time anyone belittles any of the other ones, you block any positive post on the stylusrus ones. Only this time, you not only blocked mine, you took all of the other ones off too. Yeah, you Nguyens really have a pathetic operation going. What are the other companies doing? Paying you off to promote their crap? There. Moderate that!! And no, I’m not waiting for this to be seen. Obviously you aren’t going to let others see what kind of screening operation you have, though I did read two reviews that stated you only let on what you want, which will now me three. Where do we live? Taiwan? China? Bet you have some connection to the jot, which sucks bigtime! So does the Afarday.
Mar 15, 2012 @ 15:53:52
I just want to say, this is one of the most informative sites on the net and this note taking app is awesome. I’ve tried like 12 of them and this one is the best. It has all kinds of great features that make note taking very easy. Regarding stylus as I see many have you have talked of, I too am a STYLUS-R-Us fan. I’ve tried the Jot and Afarday and both skip, and who wants to replace the Jot disk when it wears out. And when it wears out, (which the owner admits will b e the case by their selling replacement disk) how do we know it’s worn out? According to Amazon, it scratches the screen. I also read in Amazon, that the Afaraday has scratched the screen of several users, and that it too skips. The Stylus-r-us ones however, have no way of scratching the screen, and they never skip and make this great app, both a legend in their own time. If it wasn’t for the Stylus-r-us stylus and this app, I’d be back to pen and ink.
Mar 15, 2012 @ 16:37:52
Hi Betty,
Many thanks for the reference to Stylus-R-Us. If I’m not mistaken, a few other users also recommended it. By the way, we don’t block *any* posts based on the opinions expressed in them. The moderation process is meant to prevent spam; that’s all. And you’ll need to go through this process only once, meaning your next posts will appear immediately.
Mar 15, 2012 @ 20:49:51
Well then I guess I owe you an apology. It appeared as though I’d spent time making a post and all for nothing. But it looks like you proved me wrong so I am sorry. When I’m wrong, I’m wrong. However, I purchased my Stylus-r-us stylus after reading where several others on your site talked highly of them and now their post are gone also. Please remember that no one likes making the time to post, if it only gets removed, and those other post have been on for weeks because it was four weeks ago I read one and then ordered my first Stylus-r-us stylus (though I’ve got several now and more on the way). I think you owe it to the others to put their post back on, especially where they were there this morning before I posted, making me think I’m responsible for you removing them. Thank you for replying and straightening me out.
Mar 16, 2012 @ 01:52:37
Hi Betty,
No problem at all. Other posts about the Stylus-r-us are still on the site – I searched for them from our backend and they did turn up but searching via the front-end search box on our site returned nothing, which might be just the source of the confusion. Sorry about this. Anyway, the comments about Stylus-r-us are on the previous comment pages. Please click on the “Older” link at the top of the comments section, then do an on-page search (in your browser) for “Stylus-r-us”.
Mar 13, 2012 @ 21:50:12
I have been using an ifarriday RXII for over a month now and it works better than any rubber tip styli I have ever tried (over 5 different kinds) it is about the same weight as a pen and you can right at most any angle with it. It costs $28.50 with shipping for me (inside the united states) and I ordered online. This guy has great service and if you have a defect of any kind he has replaced it without any added charge. This is just another option for styli choosing and it has worked for me.
Mar 14, 2012 @ 01:38:10
Hi Jonathan,
Thanks for the recommendation. Another user has also recommended the styluses from that site. Good to know that the service staff is that helpful.
Mar 12, 2012 @ 12:24:27
hello, nice app , but where to get zhe handwriting recognition???
can you help me …
thx in advance
reiner
Mar 12, 2012 @ 17:58:13
Hi Reiner,
Please look on our FAQ page for “How do I purchase and use handwriting recognition?” : http://notesplusapp.com/support_web/frequently-asked-questions.
Mar 11, 2012 @ 04:12:01
Hi.. Really enjoying the app! Two questions:
1.) how about the “insert from camera feature” including a toggle for front/back camera on as default? Currently I see front camera as default, and i’d prefer back camera as default.
2.) can “export notebook as pdf” be added? I’d like to backup my notebooks as pdfs.
3.) how about exporting all photos on page to photo album?
Thanks for a great app! I use it for taking notes while writing work instructions, and it dramatically reduces creation times.
Mike
Mar 11, 2012 @ 06:54:00
Hi Michael,
1. This suggestion has been noted: http://notesplusapp.com/ticket/404 .
2. We’ll add “Export as PDF to Dropbox” in the next update (due next week). As a workaround, you can email a PDF to your Dropbox account using the free sendtodropbox.com service.
3. This is a good idea. We’ll think about this.
Thanks for your support and feedback.
Mar 10, 2012 @ 12:06:07
I’d like to buy the Cregle Ipen or the By Zero’s Studio Pen. Does your app support one of these?
Thanks.
Mar 11, 2012 @ 02:29:16
Hi Daniele,
We’ll support them in a future update (we already had their SDKs), but not anytime soon since we’re focusing on fixing bugs instead of adding features. Please stay tuned for more announcements. Thanks.
Mar 13, 2012 @ 09:38:12
Thats a real shame, as the precision of that thing is incredible, and the speed which it can write is just far beyond any other stylus i have tried until now.
I really hope the N+ team can soon add that support soon, as its just the last piece missing for me, so i can take fast notes during class.
I tried now many other pens, and just none can hold up to the speed i need to write…
Mar 08, 2012 @ 19:59:29
What about handwriting recognition and to change to text? Is anyone doing that or will it be on the work for the future
Mar 09, 2012 @ 00:42:56
Hi Annette,
Handwriting recognition is available in the current version. Please purchase the module by circling some text, then tap “Convert to Text”, and log in with the Apple ID with which you purchased Notes Plus.
Mar 06, 2012 @ 00:23:42
Hi Toan,
Just wanted to say that Notes Plus is fantastic, I use it quite literally all day at work.
I know that every body is different when it comes to Stylus preference, however through a colleague I have managed to come across ifaraday.com and while they are a little bit more expensive than a lot of stylus on the market in my opinion the money is well spent.
I am a left hander and for that reason I found most stylus to be a bit inaccurate due to the rubber “dragging” on the screen.
The ifaraday stylus range have a capacitive microfiber tip that glides across the screen, that coupled with different strengths in the tip makes for a great range for all people. (haha I should be getting commission for this plug)
Anyway for anyone interested I am left handed and I use an “artist” stylus from ifaraday with the hard tip and find it fantastic to write with.
Cheers
Nick

Hi Nick,
Thanks a lot for the recommendation. It’ll be useful for other users.
Mar 05, 2012 @ 01:09:18
I am holding off purchasing this app until you support the byzero studio pen. Do you have an approximate date of when this will be happening?
Mar 05, 2012 @ 16:15:41
Hi Linda,
I’m afraid I can’t give a timeframe right now, not even an approximate one. We’ll have a clearer outline after one or two more updates, but it’s reasonable to expect the integration in a few months.

I personally love your app. It does an incredible job. Also, I personally love and use the Bamboo Stylus by Wacom

does the Cregle ipen work with NotePlus? thx
Mar 01, 2012 @ 04:58:55
Hi va,
Not currenlty, I’m afraid. But we’ll support it together with the ByZero Studio One pen in a future update.
Feb 28, 2012 @ 14:23:41
After try at least three different ruber tip stylus, I gave a try to the DAGI concept (Model 507) and now my search is over!….I use as note taking principally, I’ve shown to my pals and now almost all of them got one…
Trully work…!
Mar 01, 2012 @ 04:35:44
Thanks, Alberto. This information will be useful to stylus-seekers.
Feb 27, 2012 @ 22:09:48
Soooo thanks for this link. I had bought a stylus at ebay for like a dollar and it was SO HORRIBLE. the tip squished all over the place. OMG. Anyway I just got the white box wave pen today and I think it works great so far. Ill be taking it to class tonight to really put it to the test;)
Thanks again!
PS this new update ROCKS. Something that confuses me is the tab in the middle on the left side of the page that sometimes takes you to an unwritable note. I don’t get that?
Feb 28, 2012 @ 02:21:46
If I understand you question well (?), the left hand side is a web browser. You can use it to read your notes or to browse the web.
Have you seen this video?

Hi Les,
Thanks for the feedback. We’ll try to implement all of them in the future.
Feb 24, 2012 @ 22:37:41
Using the Kensington pen. Its okay but the tip is too big and the rubber has to much resistance. But is the best pen I found so far. I tried he Bamboo stylus which has a smaller tip, but he rubber rips fter a few weeks. So not a good buy! Any suggestions on a good pen with a smaller tip en less resistance?
Feb 25, 2012 @ 03:10:14
Hi Marcel,
Did you try the Adonit Jot (http://adonit.net/)? It has a small tip and has been recommended by many.
Feb 26, 2012 @ 22:29:04
I would say stay as far away of the jot series as possible…I have bought two jot classic and one jot pro for my girlfriend and after a few days of using them they start skipping when writing; so much so that it is very frustrating to use them. They certainly feel nice but when it comes to writing, I don’t know what happens to the tip after a while but it degrades to the point that you could barely write a sentence with it without skipping every other word or so.

There’s a very easy fix for that: remove the disc (carefully!). Add a tiny amount of conductive paste (GB-OX guard) or thermal paste to the ball joint.
Replace the disc (carefully!).
After this, it works quite well !
http://support.adonit.net/entries/20536218-how-can-i-prevent-skipping-while-writing
I can’t understand why Adonit does not do this to the styli during assembly – they keep shipping replacement discs to anyone that complains, but the discs are not defective.
Mar 17, 2012 @ 10:34:36
I found another easy fix for the Jot Pro: I remove the disk and put some pencil shavings (graphite) in the ball joint cavity. I use it all day and every day with NotesPlus and have no skipping problems.

Hi Fritz,
Thanks for the tip. I’ll let people know about this if they have this kind of problem.
Feb 21, 2012 @ 22:51:26
hi, is the Bamboo Stylus pen working for your application?
i am looking for a pen that lets me put my wrist down and which lets me have the tip slightly sidewards( not perpendicular).
I like your application but the handwriting is not really as smooth and easy as with other simpler applications like the bamboo application.
but I really would like to use yours more often and really make use of it!
thank you very much in advance for your help.

Hi sylvia,
The stylus should already work with Notes Plus. We admit the inking is not so good, especially on iPad 1 and we’ll fix this problem. Try writing in closeup mode and you’ll have better inking and an automatica palm pad (on which you can rest your wrist). To enter closeup mode, just switch to Pen mode and long-press anywhere on the page.

Will you be supporting the ipen again?
Feb 18, 2012 @ 15:01:11
Hi Shane,
Yes, we will. It won’t happen anytime soon, but you’ll have it sooner or later.
Feb 17, 2012 @ 13:18:04
Good Day
Would it be possible to support the Jot pen? So it would be listed as a jot ready app?
http://adonit.net/product/jot-ready-apps/
As i ordered one of them, and i really would like to use it with N+
Feb 18, 2012 @ 02:09:26
Hi Roger,
Adonit has contacted us recently regarding the integration. We have their SDK. We’ll get started on it as soon as we’ve fixed most of the current bugs.
Feb 16, 2012 @ 19:10:42
I have the byzero Studio pen, and I have a brand new ipad, and I am very new at all of this. I also have notesplus v3, and I have not figured out how to get them to work together. The app is not responding to the pen. Have I not done something right?
Feb 17, 2012 @ 04:42:12
Hi Robin,
You’re not doing anything wrong. We have yet to support the pen. We plan to get it done in 6-7 weeks, after stabilizing the current version. We’d appreciate your patience.
Feb 21, 2012 @ 16:52:32
I couldn’t find another place to express my plea, so here goes
I just wanted to really really support the integration of by-zero studio pen support. Handwriting with a finger is….ehh…inconvenient, as are the various pogo-sticks that are currently supported like writing with a paintbrush.
Here’s a vote for high priority to supporting this.
Feb 22, 2012 @ 02:02:54
Well noted, T. We’ll try our best.
